Conveniently located on Waldegrave Road, the nursery is easily accessible for local families and commuters alike, just a 4-minute drive from Teddington Train Station. Purpose-built to support children's development, the nursery combines exceptional learning environments with practical features that help make daily drop-offs and pick-ups as smooth and convenient as possible for busy families.

Meet The Team

Kevin (Nursery Manager)

Kevin is passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment where both children and educators can thrive. He believes that when teams feel empowered and valued, they can provide the very best experiences for children, creating a culture filled with enthusiasm, confidence and a genuine love for learning. One of Kevin's favourite aspects of working in Early Years is the contagious sense of joy that comes from helping others grow and succeed. He is particularly passionate about providing holistic learning experiences that support every area of a child's development, including unique opportunities such as forest school sessions that encourage exploration, resilience and a connection with the natural world. Kevin also enjoys giving back to the local community through fundraising initiatives and supporting charitable causes, including Wear It Pink and Children In Need.

The Education Team

Ruth (Education Advisor)

Ruth is pivotal in motivating our teams to create engaging and stimulating environments for our children. She is a strong advocate for our initiatives like our ‘Book of the Month’ and our recently introduced ‘Music and Movement’ campaign. Music-based activities are essential to our curriculum due to their profound impact on brain and emotional development, along with its benefits on children’s holistic well-being during their Early Years.

Majka (Art Specialist)

Majka frequently visits all of our nurseries, including our South Croydon nursery, to guide the children in learning through art. Each month, she introduces an ‘Artist of the Month’, encouraging children to explore various art activities inspired by that artist’s works. 

Recruitment At Fennies

At Fennies Teddington, we carefully recruit educators who share our commitment to providing outstanding Early Years education and care. We look for individuals who are passionate about supporting children's development and creating positive learning experiences that help every child thrive.

Safeguarding remains at the centre of our recruitment and onboarding process. Every new team member completes a comprehensive induction programme alongside paediatric first aid training, ensuring they are fully prepared to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment from their very first day at the nursery.

Our Teddington nursery has been thoughtfully designed to support children's development through engaging learning environments that encourage independence and creativity. 

Inside, each room is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity and encourage exploration, with age appropriate resources and engaging learning experiences tailored to every stage of development. Quiet, comfortable spaces are also available throughout the nursery, providing children with a place to relax, regulate their emotions and feel supported throughout the day.

Outdoors, children can enjoy a stimulating garden environment that supports active play and discovery, with outdoor learning incorporated into everyday experiences.

Explorers Room (3 Months - 24 Months)

The Explorers Room provides babies with a calm and nurturing environment where they can begin building secure attachments and developing confidence in their surroundings. Through sensory experiences, responsive interactions and consistent daily routines, educators support children's early development while helping them feel safe and settled. With a 1:3 staff-to-child ratio, every child receives personalised care and attention throughout the day. Activities are carefully planned to support physical development, communication skills and early curiosity as babies begin exploring the world around them.

Creators Room (2 Years - 3 Years)

The Creators Room supports children as they develop growing independence, confidence and friendships. Through imaginative play, creative activities and collaborative learning experiences, children are encouraged to express themselves while developing essential communication and problem-solving skills. Educators provide opportunities for children to take on age-appropriate responsibilities throughout the day, helping strengthen confidence and self-esteem. With a 1:5 staff-to-child ratio, every child benefits from personalised guidance and support as they continue to grow and develop.

Inventors Room (3 Years - 5 Years)

The Inventors Room helps prepare children for their transition to school by fostering confidence, independence and a love of learning. Children engage in a variety of activities that introduce early literacy, numeracy and STEM concepts through hands-on experiences designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking. With a 1:8 staff-to-child ratio, educators are able to support each child's individual learning journey while encouraging collaboration, creativity and resilience. These experiences help children build the skills and confidence needed for their next educational adventure.

Garden

Outdoor learning is an important part of life at Fennies Teddington. Children enjoy access to two dedicated outdoor spaces that provide opportunities to stay active, explore nature and develop physical confidence through a variety of engaging experiences.

Alongside the main garden, babies benefit from their own dedicated outdoor terrace where they can safely enjoy fresh air, sensory exploration and age-appropriate outdoor experiences. These environments encourage children to build coordination, confidence and social skills while extending learning beyond the classroom.

Cooking Studio

Our dedicated Cooking Studio provides children with opportunities to develop independence and practical life skills through hands-on culinary experiences. From preparing simple recipes to exploring new ingredients, children build confidence while learning about nutrition, following instructions and working together with their peers.

Art Studio

The Art Studio gives children a creative space where they can explore different materials, techniques and forms of self-expression. Through painting, drawing, sculpting and mixed-media activities, children are encouraged to use their imagination, develop fine motor skills and celebrate their own unique creativity.

Children also benefit from our Lending Libraries and wider community experiences, which help extend learning beyond the nursery environment and encourage curiosity about the world around them.

Famly App

The Famly App helps families stay connected to their child's nursery day through regular observations, photographs and updates. Parents can follow their child's routines, achievements and learning experiences in real time, helping strengthen the partnership between home and nursery.

Our in-house kitchen team prepares fresh, nutritious meals each day using high-quality seasonal ingredients. Designed to support children's growth, development and wellbeing, our menus are accredited by the Early Years Alliance (EYA) and cater to a wide range of dietary requirements and preferences. 

Mealtimes provide valuable opportunities for children to develop independence, build social skills and explore new foods within a calm and supportive environment. We believe positive food experiences play an important role in helping children develop healthy habits for life.
