Fennies Clapham is a state-of-the-art nursery carefully designed to create an enriching and supportive space for every stage of early childhood development.
Inside, spacious and light-filled rooms invite children to explore and express themselves with confidence. The nursery includes calming sensory areas to support emotional regulation and foster curiosity.
Outside, a generously sized garden offers opportunities for active play and discovery, featuring a growing area and a sandpit that inspires a connection with the world around them.
Explorers Rooms

In the Explorers Room at Clapham, children aged 3 months to 18 months take their first steps into nursery life in a nurturing, purposefully designed space. The environment supports sensory play and early physical development, giving babies the freedom to explore sights, sounds and textures in a calm, reassuring setting.
Our caring team follows consistent routines to create a sense of security, while introducing new experiences to spark early curiosity. Close partnerships with families help us support individual feeding and sleep routines, as well as key developmental milestones. With a 1:3 team ratio, each child benefits from attentive, tailored care.
Discoverers Room

The Discoverers Room is home to children aged 18 to 24 months. Thoughtfully arranged to support growing independence, the space bridges the shift from infancy to early toddlerhood. Children are encouraged to move freely, explore new interests, and begin developing their communication skills.
Our team gently introduces routines around eating, toileting and self-care, helping toddlers build confidence in their own abilities. With a 1:3 ratio, each child receives focused support and encouragement throughout this exciting stage of development.
Creators Room

The Creators Room at Fennies Clapham welcomes children aged 2 to 3 years and is designed to support growing independence, emerging language and developing social skills. Children begin to build close friendships and take pride in small responsibilities, such as helping with mealtime routines or choosing how they’d like to play.
The space encourages open-ended learning through sensory play, imaginative role play, and early mark-making, all woven into each day. With a 1:5 staff-to-child ratio, the team provides consistent, tailored support. Accessible bathroom facilities also allow for gentle, positive toilet training, helping children feel confident and secure in daily routines.
Inventors Rooms

At Clapham, we are lucky to have two Inventors Rooms. These rooms welcome children aged 3 to 5 years, offering a stimulating environment that lays the groundwork for a confident start to school. Children engage with key learning areas such as early literacy, numeracy and STEAM through activities that promote curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.
Tucked away at the end of our garden, you’ll find one of our Inventors Rooms, beautifully housed within our bright and spacious Garden Room. Surrounded by nature and brimming with curiosity, this inspiring space offers children the perfect environment to explore, experiment and bring their ideas to life.
With a 1:8 staff-to-child ratio, children are supported to take greater ownership of their learning while still benefiting from expert guidance. Carefully chosen resources mirror real-life experiences, helping to build meaningful understanding. Free-flow access to the garden encourages active play and nurtures a strong connection to the natural world.
Garden

The garden at Fennies Clapham is a dynamic and inviting space designed to extend learning beyond the classroom. Featuring elements like a sandpit and a water feature, children are encouraged to explore and engage with the outdoors. This enriching environment supports physical development, builds self-assurance and fosters strong social connections through shared discovery.
Safety And Security
At Fennies Clapham, Clapham Road, your child’s safety is our absolute priority at every moment. We operate a secure entry system that strictly permits access only to registered parents, carers, or authorised staff members. Every visitor is closely supervised and accompanied by a team member for the entire duration of their visit. This careful approach ensures that from the moment you drop-off your little one to the time you collect them, you can have complete peace of mind knowing they are in a safe and protected environment.
Food At Fennies
At Fennies Clapham, our dedicated kitchen team prepares fresh, balanced meals every day, tailored to suit children’s individual tastes and dietary requirements. Our menus change twice yearly to reflect seasonal produce and hold accreditation from the Early Years Alliance (EYA). We prioritise locally sourced ingredients to create nourishing meals that support energetic learning and play. Children enjoy exploring a range of textures and flavours, helping to develop healthy eating habits from a young age.
Meal times are relaxed social moments where children are encouraged to build table manners and independence. The team gently supports children to try new foods while honouring their preferences, fostering a positive relationship with mealtimes. Keeping hydrated is key, with water freely accessible throughout the day.
Hygiene
At our nursery in Clapham, providing a safe and healthy environment is fundamental to everything we do. We follow strict hygiene protocols to minimise the spread of germs and support every child’s wellbeing. Handwashing is built into daily routines, with the team consistently modelling good hygiene habits. Toys and equipment are cleaned regularly to maintain safe and hygienic play areas.

Laura (Nursery Manager)
Laura brings creativity, warmth and over a decade of Early Years experience to her role at Fennies Clapham. She’s passionate about creating an inclusive environment where every child feels seen and celebrated for who they are. From sewing nativity costumes by hand in her first nursery role to leading a Pride Parade that brought different generations together, Laura’s career has been filled with meaningful moments that reflect her commitment to diversity and connection. She believes in the power of community and ensures the nursery is actively involved in local life, helping children explore the wider world through charitable projects and cultural celebrations. Her ambition for the sector is to make sure every child’s voice is valued, allowing them to flourish in their own unique way.
The Education Team
Paula (Regional SENCO And Inclusion Manager)
Paula plays an integral role in offering support to children with additional needs or those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). She plays a key role in enhancing our team’s understanding of both SENCO and EAL empowering us to provide the best possible care.
Ruth (Education Advisor)

Ruth is pivotal in motivating our teams to create engaging and stimulating environments for our children. She is a strong advocate for our initiatives like our ‘Book of the Month’ and our recently introduced ‘Music and Movement’ campaign. Music-based activities are essential to our curriculum due to their profound impact on brain and emotional development, along with its benefits on children’s holistic well-being during their Early Years.
Majka (Art Specialist)
Majka frequently visits all of our nurseries, including our Epsom nursery, to guide the children in learning through art. Each month, she introduces an ‘Artist of the Month’, encouraging children to explore various art activities inspired by that artist’s works.
Recruitment At Fennies
At Fennies Clapham, Clapham Road, we follow a clear and comprehensive recruitment process to welcome team members who are genuinely passionate about nurturing and inspiring young children.
This rigorous approach ensures we maintain the highest standards of care, safeguarding and early education across the nursery. Every new team member takes part in a structured induction to help them settle into their role with confidence. By day two, they complete paediatric first aid training, gaining the vital knowledge needed to contribute to a safe, supportive environment for all children.
Education At Fennies

At our nursery in Clapham, we know the Early Years are a vital time in every child’s development. To ensure we’re always delivering the highest quality care and education, we carry out quarterly quality audits led by our experienced Regional Managers in collaboration with Rageena, our Director of Early Years. These regular reviews help us maintain consistency and excellence across all Fennies’ nurseries.
Specialist Education
Our Specialist Education Team, including our SENCO Specialist, Art Specialist and Education Advisor, adds richness to the learning experience through thoughtful, engaging activities. Children explore creativity through our ‘Artist of the Month’ initiative, develop a love for stories with the ‘Book of the Month,’ and enjoy meaningful community outings, such as library visits and nature walks. Families are also invited to use our Lending Library, offering a wide selection of books to share at home and support early literacy development.
