Fennies at Addiscombe Road is a large and spacious day nursery. The car park allows a drop off and collection area for you to drop your child in safety. In addition to CCTV recording 24 hours a day we use a key pad entry system which allows parents or authorized carers of Fennies children to gain access into the nursery.

The nursery is within a few minutes walk from the Sandilands tram stop and ten minutes from East Croydon train station. The buses numbers 119, 198, 194, 466 and 917 all stop opposite the nursery.

We are open Monday to Friday between 7.45am and 6pm (although extended hours are offered at a small extra charge), 51 weeks of the year, and we close for Bank Holidays and a week at Christmas.

The practitioners caring for the children in the nursery have knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and plan activities for the children to further their development at every stage based on the individual child’s developmental needs.

On the ground floor we have two baby rooms for children aged between 3 months and 2 years which are spacious fully air conditioned rooms filled with bright soft furnishings and up to date resources. These rooms are adjacent to a dedicated baby nappy change area and a milk kitchen.

The practitioner ratio for these rooms is 1:3. At the end of each day we give you feedback, both verbal and in the form of a daily report sheet, keeping you up to date with all the activities your child has been involved in.

Also on the ground floor we have two toddler rooms which are spacious, with lots of natural light and air-conditioning providing a very comfortable environment. The staff ratio for the toddlers is 1:4. We provide many stimulating activities for your child which include music, dancing, cooking, messy and creative play.

On the second floor we have a designated room for children aged between 2 ½ and 3 ½ years. This room is equipped with air conditioning and up to date resources. There are three computers with various programs for the children to use. There are the same activities as for the toddler rooms but with the added benefit of being able to use pre school equipment. The staff ratio for this room is 1:6.

Our pre-school rooms are on the first floor with a staff ratio of 1:8. One of our principal aims is to ensure children receive high quality care and early education to enhance their preparation for the world of “big school”. We provide a balanced provision of adult and child initiated play experiences within rich stimulating indoor and outdoor environments.

The bathrooms both downstairs and upstairs are complete with low level toilets, sinks, fun soap, and paper towels to enable the staff to encourage the children’s independence with their personal hygiene. There is a large soft play garden area, with equipment for the children to practice particular skills and improvement development in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
